With vines, rolling hills, olive trees, a beach, and a hilltop tree to get married under – there is a lot to love about The Goldie Room and its surrounds. As a Hawke’s Bay photographer, I can often be found crouched in a vineyard row, framing up a romantic shot, and so felt at home in this special location. Celeste went for a 1940’s glam look with her dress and looked stunning, while Andrew and his groomsmen, were true dapper gents in in their grey wool suits. The striking landscape, and magic of the day wasn’t made any dimmer by the grey skies, although when the skies opened up at the end of the ceremony – it did present a slight challenge!
We regrouped in the tasting room of The Goldie Room; a carefully curated, cosy, vintage-styled space with its concrete floor, single bare wreath, and exposed wooden slats. I love this aesthetic, and hopefully that shows through my photography. The rain wasn’t going to get the better of us. We all decided to venture out and not let the rain dampen our spirits, even if some suits and dresses absorbed some rain drops.
As you can see, rain on your wedding day, while not the ideal weather, can make for a fun celebration, a crack up, and a chance to bring out those big white umbrellas! Andrew and Celeste have been together for a long time, and were beyond ecstatic to finally tie the knot. Congratulations Celeste and Andrew!
