Brad and Alle brought their friends and family all the way from Australia to the beautiful shores of Hahei Beach for an intimate, bohemian, vintage styled wedding. With beautiful floral and table decorations, as well as plenty of emotion and set in the beautiful shores of one of the Coromandel’s most beautiful beaches, you couldn’t ask for better as a Photographer. I also loved Alle’s dress and flowers, and the groomsmen and bridesmaids looked amazing. There were beautiful touches, such as a century old heirloom veil, handmade nautical knots made by Alle’s mother Lindy based on those that her late grandfather made. With a stormy start, the weather again seemed to lift right on time for the ceremony and for a quick jaunt down to a local deserted beach. As a Hawke’s Bay Photographer I realise we have some beautiful coastline where I live, but the Coromandel seems to have something unique and special. I loved this shoot and as a Hawke’s Bay Photographer I feel very lucky to be working with such amazing and talented wedding vendors as well as Gemma and BJ whose chemistry with eachother is simply off the charts! It was a moody and overcast day on the day of the shoot, so I decided to go with the soft light and worked with the olive greens, and blush and peach tones, with some splashes of gold on the beautifully simple cake from Ash. It was going to rain. The forecast had said it all week, and I had photographed a rainy wedding the day before so I felt like I was prepared for that. On the day of Neil and Pumudi’s wedding, the stormy clouds were there in the morning. Until they weren’t. As a Hawke’s Bay Photographer you feel you can count on the weather to behave, and for this day it did. I was really keen to do a great job for Neil and Pumudi. Pumudi is the sister of Thushan, one of my closest friends and who was my witness at my own wedding (I didn’t have a best man, but he would’ve been it). Pumudi looked so poised, elegant and radiant that I was really excited by the end of the day to see the photographs I had taken. Sean and Holly were very cute when I first came to know them in the Botanical Gardens during an engagement shoot over a year and a half ago. They bought their dog rocket, were totally into eachother, and talked about how Holly’s parents were married in the gardens.
