Higgins is a special dog with a sketchy past. Found wandering on the streets of London by a dog rescue organisation, Jess and Matt took this Pug / French Bulldog wanderer in to their lives and hearts. When they came back to New Zealand for their marriage, it only seemed logical to bring Higgins back with them too. He seemed to be well at home on Te Mata Peak, and as a Hawke’s Bay Photographer the peak light doesn’t get much more stunning this – watch it completely change as the session goes on x

Brittney and Bernard came prepared for a windy Te Mata Peak, I came camera prepared, but not appropriate clothing prepared. We managed to not get blown away and and got some magical scenes on the peak.

Jack and Janelle had made their trip down from Auckland and so as a Hawke’s Bay Photographer it seemed like a great idea to go up the icon of Hawke’s Bay – Te Mata Peak. The weather was blowing at almost hurricane speed but these two didn’t mind, climbing over the terrain of Te Mata Peak comfortable in each others’ arms.

As a Hawke’s Bay Photographer I know how beautiful our beaches can get. Kelsea and Dan took me to the beach they’re getting married at in about 6 months time, I was blown away by it’s rugged beauty. From whole tree driftwood to it’s history as a Whaler’s Beach, this is a place with a lot of resonance and meaning and I’m so very excited to be capturing the wedding here.

Rachel and Peter are a lovely Hawke’s Bay couple and super comfortable with eachother. I love engagement sessions as you can choose the nicest light to be some where, but on this evening the light was really super special up on Te Mata Peak, don’t you think? As a Hawke’s Bay Photographer this has to be one of the perks of the job.

As a Hawke’s Bay Photographer you have to expect better weather than what we had this day, right? However it didn’t really seem to matter to Jess and Shaun, who were happy to be together and hanging out. With the wedding season and their wedding with me rapidly approaching, that these guys seem to be able to take whatever sleet, snow or hail can be thrown at them and still having nothing but love for eachother gives me hope and excitement for the wedding season ahead x
